How the grid is made
The first row of the grid holds four, nine and two, the second holds three, five and seven, and the third holds eight, one and six. The digits of the day, month and year of the date are used, and zero is left out. In the Indian method (the default), the Moolank and Bhagyank are added as extra digits; in the date-only method they are not. A line whose three numbers are all present is counted as complete, and one whose three numbers are all absent is counted as empty. Checked on 2026-10-10.
An example
In one example date, the number one appeared three times, so in the Indian method its count was 3. Five appeared 2 times and eight appeared 2 times. The Moolank 1 and Bhagyank 5 were also added to the grid. The complete line was Will (9-5-1) and the empty line was Action (2-7-6).
Method and limitations
- The interpretation of the Lo Shu grid differs a little between traditions; the meanings here are brief texts written by us and are for interest and guidance.
- The Indian method and the date-only method give different results; the page has an option to choose between the two.
- This is not a prediction. A missing number is not a shortcoming, only one feature of the grid.
